Tomato Coconut Chutney

Tomato Coconut Chutney (2)

Tomato Coconut Chutney, is a simple chutney recipe for idli and dosa.Step by step method on the end of this post.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tomato
  • 1 Big onion
  • 4-5 Garlic
  • 1 Red chilli (to taste)
  • ½ tsp Jeera seeds
  • Oil as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • ½- ¾ cupShredded coconut
  • 3 sticks Curry leaves
  • 2 sticks Coriander leaves

To Temper:

  • 3 tsp Sesame oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp Urad dal
  • 1 stick Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add jeera seeds and garlic and sauté for 3 mins and then add red chilli .
  2. Add onion chopped and sauté for 5 mins.
  3. Add tomato and salt and sauté for mushy consistency.
  4. Then add shredded coconut mix well and sauté for 2 mins.
  5. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves and sauté for 2 mins and then cool down.
  6. In a mixer, the mixture to grind a fine chutney paste. Chutney transfer into the bowl.
  7. Heat sesame oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves to temper and then transfer into the chutney bowl and mix well.
  8. Tomato Coconut Chutney is ready now.

1st

Take big onion,tomato chopped,shredded coconut,salt,garlic,jeera,red chilli,curry leaves and coriander leaves.

 

2nd

In a pan, add jeera seeds, garlic and saute for 2 mins and then add red chilli.

 

3rd

Add chopped onion and saute for 5 mins.

 

4th

Add tomato chopped and salt and saute for mashy consistency.

 

5th

Add shredded coconut and mix well and saute for 3 mins.

 

6th

Add curry leaves and coriander leaves mix well.Cool down.

 

7th

In a mixer to grind a fine paste.

 

8th

In small pan, add oil,mustard seeds and curry leaves to temper. Add chutney to mix well.Tomato Coconut Chutney is ready now.
