Simple Mutton Biryani,is a simple and quick biryani recipe that can be made easily by bachelors who are new to cooking.
Ingredients:
For Mutton Cooked:
- ½ lb(450-500 gms)Mutton
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- ¾ tsp Garlic paste
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Chilli powder
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Garam masala powder
- Water as required
For Biryani:
- 2 cup Seeragasamba rice/jeera rice/basmati rice
- 3 tsp Ghee
- 2- 3 tsp Oil
- 3 Cinnamon sticks
- 6 Cloves
- 3 Cardamom
- 3 Bay leaves
- 2 Star anise
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- ¾ -1 tsp Chilli powder (to taste)
- 1 ¼ tspCoriander powder
- ¼ tsp Garam masala powder
- 1 Big onion chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- ¾ tsp Garlic paste
- 1 Tomato finely chopped
- Salt to taste(1-1 ¼ tsp)
- 3 sticks Mint leaves
- 3 sticks Coriander leaves
- 1 tsp thick Curd
- 2 cup Coconut Milk
- 1 3/4 cup Water (use cooked mutton water(mutton stock))
Method:
For Mutton Cooked:
- In a pressure cooker, add cleaned mutton pieces, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and water.
- Cover with the lid and cook for 18-20 whistle. 20 mins resting time to open.
- Take cooked mutton Pieces and mutton water (stock) separately.
For Biryani:
- Heat ghee + oil in a pressure cooker and then add cinnamon sticks, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf and star anise.
- Add Garam masala powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder. Immediately add onion and sauté for 5 mins.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2 mins and then add tomato and sauté for 2 mins.
- Add mint leaves and coriander leaves and sauté for a 2 mins and then add salt mix well and then add curd and sauté for a min.
- Add cooked mutton pieces mix well and sauté for 2 mins and then add ghee roasted rice mix well.
- Add coconut milk + water mix well.
- Cover with the lid and cook for 1 whistle. 20 mins resting time to open.
- Simple Mutton Biryani is ready now.

Take mutton pieces,turmeric powder,chilli powder,garam masala powder,salt and gingergarlic paste and water.

In pressure cooker, add turmeric powder,chilli powder,garam masala powder,salt ,gingergarlic paste.

Add water and mix well.

Cover with the lid and cook for 16-18 whistle.20 mins resting time to open.

In a pan add ghee.

Washed rice and roasted for dry consistency.

Take cooked mutton, mutton stock water,coconut milk,water,big onion,tomato,gingergarlic paste,curd,salt,turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder,ghee roasted rice,mint leaves,coriander leaves,cinnamon sticks,bay leaf,star anise,cloves and cardamom.

Heat ghee + oil in a pressure cooker. Add cinnamon sticks,cloves,cardamom,star anise and bay leaf.

Add turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder and garam masala powder and mix well.

Immediately, add sliced onion mix well and saute for 5 mins.

Add gingergarlic paste and saute for 3 mins.

Add tomato finely chopped and saute for 4 mins.

Add salt.

Add curd and mix well and saute for 2 mins.

Add mint leaves finely chopped.

Add coriander leaves and mix well and saute for 5 mins.

Add cooked mutton pieces and saute for 2 mins.

Add ghee roasted rice and mix well.

Add mutton stock water.

Add coconut milk.

Add water.(required or skip).

Cover with the lid and cook for 1 whistle.20 mins resting time to open and mix well.Serve hot.Simple Mutton Biryani is ready now.
