Peas Rice

Peas Rice, is a very simple to make.Basmati or Seeragasamba rice and Peas make an excellent main dish.Peas rice recipe with step by step method end on this post.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Seeraga samba rice/jeera rice/basmati rice
  • 3/4 cup Green peas
  • 3 to 4 Green chillies
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 Star anise
  • 2 tsp Ghee/oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 stick Curry leaves
  • 1 3/4  cup Water

Method:

  1. In a cooker, add ghee to heat and then add cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf sauté for a min.
  2. Add curry leaves, green chillies split without seeds sauté for a min. add green peas sauté for a min.
  3. Add 2 cup of water, salt boil for a min.
  4. Add 1 cup of rice and cover with the lid cook for 1 whistles.
  5. Serve hot.

1st

Take seeragasamba rice, green peas, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom, star anise, bay leaves, curry leaves, green chilli splits.

 

2nd

Add ghee into a pressure cooker.

 

3rd

Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom, star anise, bay leaves saute for a min.

 

4th

Add curry leaves.

 

5th

Add green chillies saute for a min.

 

6th

Add green peas saute for a min.

 

7th

Add rice and mix well.

 

8th

Add salt.

 

9th

Add water and sprinkle some ghee and mix well.

10th

Cover with the lid cook for 1 whistle. resting time 15 mins and open to serve.
