Mint Chutney

Mint Chutney, is a very tasty and easy mint chutney.This chutney goes well with sandwiches , snacks, idli and dosa.


  • Oil as needed
  • ½ tsp Jeera seeds
  • 20 Small onion
  • 3 Garlic pods
  • 1 Red chilli
  • ¼ Tomato chopped
  • 1 handful Mint leaves
  • 2 tsp Shredded coconut
  • 1 pepper corn size Tamarind
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida powder
  • Salt to taste

To Temper:                                                                                

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ¼ tsp Urad dal
  • 1 stick Curry leaves


  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add jeera seeds, small onion, garlic and sauté for 2 mins.
  2. And then add tomato chopped and sauté for a min and then add mint leaves and sauté for a min.
  3. Then add shredded coconut, tamarind and sauté for a min.
  4. Add asafetida powder and salt mix well.Cool down and grind a fine paste using water.
  5. Transfer the grind chutney into the bowl.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
  7. Add into the chutney.
  8. Mint Chutney is ready now.

Take mint leaves,asafoetida,jeera seeds,red chilli,salt,tomato chopped,shredded coconut,tamarind,small onion, garlic.



Heat oil in a pan.Add jeera seeds and small onion,garlic and saute for a min.



Add red chilli.



Add tomato.



Add mint leaves and saute for a min.



Add shredded coconut and tamarind and saute for a min.



Add asafoetida powder.



Add salt and mix well.



Cool down and transfer into the mixer and then add water to grind a fine paste.



To temper the mint chutney.Mint Chutney is ready now.
