Butter Chicken Gravy

Butter Chicken Gravy  learn how to make butter chicken with step by step photos. punjabi murgh makhani known as butter chicken has gained much popularity across the globe. Butter chicken Gravy recipe, we need to grill the chicken either in a pan or in oven first and then cook it up in the rich gravy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 1 Big onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato puree
  • ¾ tsp Ginger paste
  • ½ tsp Garlic paste
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp Garam masala powderGaram Masala Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • ¼ tsp Jeera powder
  • Water as needed
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cream(optional)
  • 1 tsp Methi leaves

For Marination:

  • 300 gms( 1/2 lb)Chicken
  • ½ Ginger paste
  • ¼ Garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Curd
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. In a bowl, add chicken, ginger garlic paste, curd, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt to mix well and cover the lid to marinated for 30 mins.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add marinated chicken grill for both sides 5mins-5 mins. Keep aside.
  3. Heat butter in a pan. Add jeera powder and add onion chopped sauté for till light golden color.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for raw smell goes out. And then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt, sugar mix well and sauté for 3 mins.
  5. Add tomato puree mix well and sauté for 5 mins and then add water cover with the lid and cook for 5 mins.
  6. Add grilled chicken, mix well cover with the lid and cook for 10 mins.
  7. Garnish with cream (optional) and methi leaves.
  8. Butter Chicken Gravy is ready now.

Heat oil in a pan. Add marinated chicken pieces and cook for 5 mins.

Turn other side and cook for 5 mins to grill and keep aside.

 

14th

Heat butter in a pan. Add jeera powder.

 

15th

Add onion and saute for light golden brown.

 

16th

Add ginger garlic paste.

 

17th

Add turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder,garam masala,salt and sugar and saute for 3 mins.

 

18th

Add tomato puree and saute for 5 mins.

 

19th

Add water and mix well and cover with lid and cook for 5 mins.

 

20th

Add grilled chicken.

 

21st

Cover with the lid and cook for 10 mins.

 

22nd

Garnish with cream(optional) and methi leaves.Butter Chicken Gravy is ready now.
